About Mild Hogs© Founders
Welcome to the Mild Hogs© web site. The Mild Hogs© are a riding club dedicated to
those bikers who dreamt of wild times on their motorcycles in their youth and believe

that you should always travel the adventures of your dreams. Alas our realities may be of a milder nature than the
travels that we dreamt of many years before.
The Mild Hogs© were formalized in 2007 with our first cross country trip. We had members traveling from the east
coast to the Northeast then westward to the Grand Canyon. The group was comprised of high-school buddies who
hadn't seen each other for several decades and brothers that had grown up and found that hundreds of miles now
separated them. Some of the group had been riding for decades, while one member had only a few months in the
saddle. The trip had its adventures and setbacks starting with a flat tire, electrical failures and ending up with a
couple of the bikes riding in the back of a U-haul truck. Despite some of the pitfalls of the trip it was an adventure
enjoyed by all and prompted the continuation of yearly cross-country trips.
In 2008 the group grew in number and headed down from the Northeast and Mid-west to join together for a ride
starting in North Carolina, traveling south along the less traveled coastal country roads yet still taking in some of
the major sites of the Outer Banks and the likes of Charleston and Savannah. The Mild Hogs then headed back
north along the winding roads of the Blue Ridge Mountains. On this trip we found all types of adventures from
hang-gliding the sand dunes in Kitty Hawk to searching for gems in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
In July of 2009 the Mild Hogs© found new adventure circumnavigating the Great Lakes. That trip included stops at
Navy Pier in Chicago, the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, visits to various historical lighthouses along the
lakes, Old Fort William in Thunder Bay, a very very cold ride through Canada (I think I saw snow in Wawa), a boat
trip in the Thousand Islands, numerous bars, restaurants and scenic overlooks. And to our surprise not a single
mechanical breakdown!
More adventures lay ahead and we extend an invitation to all like minded bikers to join us on our rides. Within this
website you will find pictures and commentaries from those that have joined our rides, information on our future
rides and links to other Mild Hogs© groups around the world. We also offer for sale to all like minded bikers Mild
Hogs© t-shirts, patches and gremlin bells to show your support for the ideals of all Mild Hogs©.
So once again welcome to our website and please feel free send us your comments and suggestions.
